INFORMATIONS

There are more than 30 cave temples in and around Ipoh and Perak Tong is one of the most famous and frequently visited.

Within the huge limestone caves of Gunung Tasik, nestles the Perak Tong. Built in 1926 by Buddhists priests from China, the temple houses over 40 Buddha statues with the centrepiece being a 12.8-metre high sitting Buddha.

Beyond the main altar, there is a passage which leads into the cave's interior. One will definitely be fascinated with the mystical mural paintings found on the cave's walls. After a steep climb of 385 steps, the cave opens again to reveal a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. Visitors will also find themselves fascinated by mystical mural paintings on the walls of the caves.
